My dog has dry skin and odor problems. Could this be linked?

Is there any supplement I can put in her food that would help her with both? Also when I pull her skin up like on her neck it kinda sticks in that position for a little bit.

My dog has dry skin and odor problems. Could this be linked?
yes they can be related..

it can be a sign of a health problem or poor genetics or poor nutrition..

you can rule out nutrition simply by looking at your food ingredient list (and treats too)

food that is most often linked to dry skin is food with a lot of CORN and Corn glutten meal.. etc.. if these are in the top 3 positions its a bad food..

by-Products (beaks feet and feathers) are also indicators of bad food for skin..

corn and by-products are cheap filler.. cheap filler = low nutritional value

odor - this can be a sign of poor skin - the common things to look for are beef, pork, wheat and soy.... you want to avoid all these..

look for YUCCA as an odor controlling ingredient

NONE of the foods from grocery or wal mart are any good.. very few from big box stores are good.. you need to go to local pet stores or even sometimes livestock supply stores

if you want to know some good foods post a question indicating your country - remember not all answers will be good - check the ingredient list yourself

also be warned if a vet reccommends a food you STILL need to check ingredient list - especially if its a food they happen to sell....

is she drinking enough??

how often do you brush her??

has she been dewormed??
Reply:It could be her food. What do you feed her? I feed my dogs Royal Cannin. .It has done wonders for their coats
Reply:it may seem small but you need to take it to a vet. Either you dont wash it or you puppy or dog may be sick. Or the medication is a affecting her skin condition call the vet.
Reply:Is your dog dehydated? Lack of elasticity in her skin would suggest she's not drinking enough water.

To help with her dry skin (and coat, too) you can give her either salmon oil or flax seed oil capsules (contain omega 3). Or you can add olive oil or even vegetable oil to her food daily and be sure you're not over-bathing.
Reply:YES, IT ALSO A SIGN OF SKIN CANCER.

AND IF IT IS, YOU HAVE ALREADY BEGUN TO KILL YOUR DOG!

congratulations.
Reply:I recommend flint river ranch food. My dog had this problem and is now over it. Here is a link so you can check it out
