Weird skin and hair problems with my dog?!?

I have two boxers, a boy and a girl. The girl's hair started to fall off last year in the summer. We took her to the doctor and they said its common in boxers and its because she doesnt go out enough and she needs more sun. They also said to buy her a UV light. so we did its not working. I wanna know what it is and why its happening. What can i do? I think its starting with my other dog.

Weird skin and hair problems with my dog?!?
boxers are prone to skin conditions and allergies. Purina Dog Chow has too much corn, soy and filler to be a good food. If you need to use Purina for convenience try the Lamb and Rice - no corn and no soy.

Try an oatmeal shampoo bath and have the dogs checked for mites, mange and thyroid disorders.
Reply:their might be some allergic reactions in what hes eating or anything like that what have you changed go to a veternarian and get a list of his maybe allergic reactions
Reply:take them to the vet. they may hav mites or fungi. u can buy skin and hair products that can fix this a pet store.
Reply:If you would like a second opinion I would suggest a vetrinarian dermatologist. Your vet would not be offended if you ask for a recommendation.

I can't get the pics to come up, but yes hair loss is common in boxers. I have not heard of the UV treatment before.
Reply:Boxers are GREAT dogs but can have health problems such as skin problems. Your pictures won't load for me, but it sounds like it could be dermatitis (skin inflamation due to allergy). Like people dogs can be allergic to dust or pollen, food or fleas. They usually diagnose these type of problems starting with the food. I would definitely find a vet and meanwhile use a dog shampoo that is all natural and very mild to wash the dogs.

If it is not allergies and is something fungal like ringworm, the vet can run a test in the clinic and will have an answer in just a few days.
