Food allergies are not as common as the food companys would like us to believe,, all the foods you mention are good, But none are low antigen,, and suitable for a Propper food trial.. this you would need to talk with your vet about,, if a food allergy is supect,, then a specific food with specific ingredients is feed for at least 6 weeks,, for a propper food tial.. Stick to the nutro for now,, about the only supplement that is of good benifit, is probiotics, and EFA (fatty acids) Like Derm caps, or a similar brand of oil..

That being said.. there is a more likely answerto your itching problem. Take her to the vet and have her anal glands checked, they may be full and that causes them to itch and scratch a bit at the rear,, on rare occasions,,, sometimes there is a problem if the tail was docked to short, or done poorly by the breeder.. Anal glands can make a dog constantly scoot, scratch lick at the base of the tail..

Even though you are pretty sure about the fleas,,it is good Idea to use some advantage, frontline, advantix anyway,, somtimes all it takes is one flea you never see to send a dog into itching fits..for some reason they prefer to bite at the base of the tail.. so because of this treat her if even if you are sure she is flea free,,sometimes the buggers can be hard to spot..

As far as mites,, be very carefull,, aussies are sensitive to several insecticides,, IVERMECTIN being the primary one,, so I would get a definitive diagnosis from your vet,, and if Sarcoptic mange is suspected (not likely baised on your description) Please do not allow the vet to use a injetible treatment (ivermectin) on her,, you can only use lyme sulfur dips or revolution on aussies..

Good luck

Reply:Try mixing a raw egg into her dry food once or twice aweek. Or take her to a vet.
Reply:At least your not feeding wal marts ol'roy.. May be mites! try a product made by Adams, mites are naked to the human eye. Adams has some very good products, try a feed store, or a tack shop. My Dad was nationaly known for his beagles, some had the same problm, he tried Adams products, it worked. Good luck!
